My Artist! Well I have 4 of them but Alex spends every waking second, of every hour, of every day drawing!! He draws everything from copies of characters he loves to make up characters. He draws people and animals and stuff! The kid would be lost without his paper and pencil! I love it!!
He is also a goof, goof, goofball! Did I mention he is a goofball!! Along with being the biggest goofball, Alex is also my most serious child! He flips a switch so fast you could get whiplash! He is sensitive, sweet, thoughtful and caring. He seems to be giving and selfish all at the same time! Alex loves to harass his little sister and brother. He knows the buttons to push…and pushes them frequently! Oh, it drives me nuts! And then he wonders why Cameron scratches or bite him…”well son maybe you shouldn’t have pushed him over the edge”. We have that type of talk on a regular basis. It’s funny though, because he can also be the most help, sweetest kid towards them as well. He will help Emily with her drawings and help her pick up her toys or get something. He will help Cameron put on a new Scooby movie or help him use the scissors or help him swing. It all depends on the toss of a coin…maybe it’s just losing all the bad habits he picked up in the brick-and-mortar school last year!?
Alex is now in 4th grade (just like Hunter). He is a smart guy, wow. I am amazed at the things he already knows and the things that he pulls out of each lesson. He is a natural talent at spelling and a wiz at math! Not so great at comprehension when reading but we will be working on that! Alex is not a motivated kid…we must bribe him to complete lessons or stay on task. Once we get him on task he can usually stay there…unless distracted (which is often). He would like to be an inventor! He wants to make things that help us in our everyday lives…he wants our lives to be simpler (and funnier). He has also talked about making buildings…so maybe an architect. Anyway you look at it…its math related, which fits him well!
Alex hugs me more than any of the kids probably combined! He is a hugger! He always says he loves me and that I am the greatest Mom ever. He would do anything I asked him to…he loves to help me out! He is so sweet. I love it!
