Emily
She amazes me every single day! She is beautiful and sweet, thoughtful and kind, smart and crazy! I am so blessed to have such a great daughter!!
She started kindergarten this year!! She is enrolled in COVA, an online public school. So it is essentially homeschooling with a public education curriculum. I will talk more about COVA in the COVA tab above! Emily loves and hates school! When we get into working on it and doing the work she loves it! It’s just getting her to begin the work that she hates and drags her feet. She tested out of 30% of her math the first week so we will be beginning 1st grade math during the second semester. I also think we will be able to begin 1st grade phonics and language arts during the second semester. She has been working on letters and sounds in therapy for 3 ½ years, so phonics is a little boring. We are slowing down with it right now because she is beginning to read…Already! As far as the other classes, language arts is reading to her and her reading comprehension which is fairly easy to move through quickly. She also has science…her favorite class! She would only do science if she had a choice so we have moved pretty quickly through those courses too! Smarty pants!
She loves life! She loves to help me make dinner or cookies and helps me clean the house. She also loves to through tantrums and be a brat (I guess we have to take the bad with the good)! She loves drawing, drawing and more drawing. My house doesn’t have walls…it has pictures! I get at least 3 pictures a day of her and I doing something together, it is sooo cute!! She also loves her Barbie’s, dolls, and Silly (the seal we got at the zoo last year). Silly goes everywhere with us, well let me take that back…about a month ago Silly got lost. We thought she got left at a store but she fell beside the car seat and window in the back of the van. So after 2 days of drama (and me almost going to the zoo just to get a replacement) we found her…but now Silly doesn’t like to go to the store. I think it was a little traumatizing for the poor seal (and Emily)! Emily is just like I was at her age…dancing around the house, at the store, in the parking lot, at church and scouts! She doesn’t stop moving and when she is moving she is dancing! We had her in a dance class by Matt’s store but it was a little drive. We are now waiting for the session here at the Rec Center to finish and a new one to begin so that it is closer to home. She would like to join a hip-hop class this time..?? I am not 100% sure where that came from (I think Angelina Ballerina, a movie) but I think she should continue in ballet. Why? Because, she is fantastic…no she is beyond fantastic!
