Cameron

My baby is now 3 years old! Where does the time go? With turning 3 means beginning preschool through the state. We had several problems getting him into the class we wanted (even though we were promised) but eventually I told them to put him in his homeschool. We know the teacher from Emily's class last year, she was a student teacher. It was the best choice & I am glad we ended up there! Cameron is thriving & loves Mrs. Maul and going to school. He goes 2 days a week this year and will either go 3 or 4 days a week next year. It’s a brand new school!! They are focused on technology…they have MACs in the computer lab bigger than mine! Insane!! Regardless, we love it (well for a brick-and mortar school at least!)

There is not a night that goes by that he doesn’t end up in bed with mom! Which I don't mind at all! He is such a sweet little guy and smart too! At the young age of 3, he is able to maneuver around kids websites. He especially loves ABCmouse! I swear he could play it all day long and he has! I really like it because it is geared for preschoolers and kindergarteners, although, there are a few songs and books he gets "stuck" on & I just want to kill the computer! Like most normal kids his age, he loves play-doh, coloring, arts and crafts and torturing his sister! Cameron loves, loves, loves Scooby Doo! He could watch movies all day long if I let him. He loves to play out back...swinging!! We have an indoor swing since it is too cold several months out of the year. Well it’s also a sensory swing...it cradles him like a cocoon and swings. We love it! It helps when he is really unregulated!

We are still working hard on Sensory Processing Disorder issues & as well as his intelligible communication. Right now we are working on getting him into JFK, a great hospital here in Denver that is known for its ability and work with Autistic children, for testing. Our PCP would like to see if he falls under High Functioning Autism or High Function Asperger's. Appointments are about 3 mouths out…so for now we will be waiting for an appointment.
